Vintage Victoria: How to Shop the Y2K Angel Aesthetic

This year's Victoria's Secret show gave a whole chapter to its own past. It was called Vintage Victoria, and for it the brand reissued silk chiffon and lace slips from its archive (how to wear the 2026 show itself is covered in a separate edit). The archive is the more interesting wardrobe, though. Through the 2000s the Angels walked in a very particular kind of glamour: huge blowouts, glossy lips, fluffy trims, crystals on everything. The make-up is already back, with a whole Reddit community working out how to copy it.

The clothes are easier to borrow than you'd think, because almost every archive look had one piece that works on a night out now. Here are four, each from a specific show, what I'd steal from each, and where to find something similar now.

    The Y2K Angel palette

Fluff, crystals and a lot of pink.

    Adriana Lima's white feather shrug

At the 2005 show at the New York State Armory, Lima wore a black balconette bra with a little bow, ruffle-trimmed black briefs, a diamanté choker and a white feather shrug round her shoulders. The shrug is the whole point. Something white and fluffy over a black going-out top or a slip dress is the Y2K Angel look in one move, and it's a lot more useful in November than it sounds. Verdict: buy it, but keep it short. A long fluffy coat is a different look.

White faux fur and feather jackets

The archive slip dress, now reissued

What Victoria's Secret actually brought back this year were slips: silk chiffon, lace trims, ruffled minis. You don't need the reissue. A satin slip with a lace edge is the easiest way into the whole look. Wear it over a white tee in the day and with the fluffy jacket at night.

How to do Y2K Angel without it turning into fancy dress

    01

One fluffy thing at a time

A feather shrug or a fur-trimmed hood. Not both, and not with a fluffy bag as well.

    02

    Put the shine on top

Crystals and sequins look best near your face. Keep the bottom half to black trousers or dark denim and let the top do the talking.

    03

The hair is half the look

The archive Angels all had that big, bouncy round-brush blowout. It does more for this aesthetic than any single piece of clothing, so don't skip it.

    04

    Leave the wings at home

Obviously. The point was always the glamour around the underwear, and that's the part that translates.

The rails update as stock comes and goes, so the pink jacket you like today might not be there next week.
