Most of the Celebrity Traitors fashion chat this series (BBC One, filmed at Ardross Castle in the Highlands) has gone to Maya Jama's coats. Fair enough. But Leigh-Anne Pinnock, still in the game as a Faithful when I wrote this, has been doing something I find more useful to copy: she wears the pattern on the jacket and keeps nearly everything else plain.
Check, tapestry, brocade, yellow tweed. Every episode the jacket is the loud bit, and underneath there's a plain shirt, a cropped top or a pair of pale jeans. It's also the easiest celebrity rule I've seen to borrow for an ordinary week. Here are five of her looks from the first four episodes, each with a rail of similar pieces.

Leigh-Anne Pinnock's Celebrity Traitors looks, episode by episode

The patchwork check jacket
Her first look was a patchwork jacket made of different checks, mustard and orange on one side and denim blue on the other, over a pale shirt buttoned right up. StarStyle identifies it as a vintage Dolce & Gabbana piece, worn with fishnet tights and white patent platforms. The shirt does a lot here. It's plain, it's done up to the collar and it's a colour that doesn't argue with anything in the check, so the jacket looks chosen, not costume. You won't find patchwork like that on the high street, but a check jacket in warm colours over a neutral shirt gets you most of the way.

The plain pieces under Leigh-Anne's jackets
What's under the jackets is close to boring on purpose: a pale shirt, a cropped top, pale wide-leg jeans and gold hoops she wears in almost every episode. If you buy one loud jacket this autumn, these are what let you wear it more than twice.
How to borrow Leigh-Anne Pinnock's castle style
Put all the pattern on the jacket
Check, tapestry or brocade, but only one patterned layer at a time. Everything else stays plain.
Keep the colours in one family
Her tapestry coat looks good with printed jeans because every shade in it is muted and earthy. Match the mood of the colours rather than the exact shade.
Button the shirt to the top
A plain shirt done up to the collar makes a busy jacket look deliberate.
Wear the same earrings every day
Gold hoops turn up in nearly every look. With jackets this different, one thing that doesn't change ties them together.
The series is on BBC One on Thursdays and Fridays, so there should be more jackets to come. The check jacket is the easiest way in, and you might already have something close. Jackets like these sell through fast once October turns cold, so if a size you want is in stock now, I wouldn't leave it a fortnight.
