Kylie Jenner's outfits tend to get written up as stunts, and a few of them are. Put five from the past year next to each other, though (a Paris front row, a film premiere and its after-party, the Oscars, a basketball game), and they turn out to be built the same way every time, which is good news if you don't have a stylist or a Margiela archive.
The five photos run from October 2025 to May 2026. For each I've written up what she's wearing and what the fashion press reported about it, and the rails underneath are the nearest matches across brands. They're a way into the look rather than a copy of the exact piece.

Five Kylie Jenner outfits from the past year, and how to copy them

Black lace with grey socks
For Miu Miu's spring 2026 show at the Palais d'Iéna she was in Miu Miu from top to toe: a spaghetti-strap midi in black floral lace over a nude lining, with black sequins worked into the flowers (Marie Claire noticed the nude bra straps left showing on purpose). Then, where you'd expect sheer tights, she has grey socks pulled up under pointed black heels. There's a black patent top-handle bag on her arm, sunglasses on indoors, and a brown suede jacket that she carried rather than wore. On its own the dress is wedding-guest smart. The socks make it look like she got dressed in a hurry, in a good way, and they're the cheapest part of the outfit to copy. If you already own a black lace midi, start there.

What the five outfits have in common
Four of the five are built on black, white or denim, and each has a single piece doing the talking: the socks at Miu Miu, the ruffles at the premiere, the archive tunic at Craig's, the bag at the Knicks game. The Oscars gown turns that round and makes the whole dress the loud part, then keeps the clutch the same red so nothing argues with it. None of the five has two ideas fighting each other, and that rule costs nothing to copy.
How to borrow Kylie Jenner's formula
Choose the odd piece first
Build the outfit backwards from it. A ruffled top gets a plain black skirt; a printed or textured tunic gets plain black leather.
Try socks instead of tights
Grey or black socks under pointed heels take a dressy midi down a notch. It costs a few pounds to find out whether you like it.
Own a black skirt in two lengths
A satin maxi and a leather midi carried both January looks, and either one works with a jumper in the daytime.
Put the money into the accessories
The Knicks outfit is a cheap vest and jeans made to look expensive by the bag and the shoes. If you're upgrading basics, start with those.
None of this needs couture. One black skirt and one top with a bit of nerve will get you most of the way, and leather pencil skirts are worth a look second-hand before you buy new.
Stock and prices on these rails move week to week, so if something turns up in your size, don't leave it too long.
