Centre front sits flat against your breastbone. Band level all the way around (not riding up at the back). Underwire follows your natural crease without digging in. Straps stay put without cutting in. If any of these are off, the size isn't right. A professional fitting genuinely changes the game.

With regular wear, 6-12 months before elastic and support deteriorate. Signs: stretched band (using the tightest hooks), slipping straps, visible fabric wear. For many, non-wired or bralette styles are the most comfortable, particularly for smaller to medium busts. For larger busts, a well-fitted underwired bra actually distributes weight more comfortably. T-shirt bras with moulded cups are a solid middle ground, supportive yet smooth.
