Unlined leather with perforated palms for grip and breathability. Lambskin or deerskin give the best steering wheel feel. Knuckle cut-outs or open backs add flexibility. For cold-weather driving, cashmere-lined leather adds warmth without sacrificing dexterity.

Gloves for everyday dexterity, driving, phone, keys. Mittens for genuine warmth in cold conditions, skiing, hiking, properly cold commutes. For most UK daily use, insulated leather or knitted gloves are warm enough. Save mittens for when it really drops.

Dry naturally at room temperature, never on a radiator or near direct heat (causes cracking). Apply leather conditioner periodically. Store flat, not scrunched in a pocket. Preloved leather gloves on SO-ME often have years of life left in them with proper care.
